Bereavement Visitor

Bereavement Care

  • To support adults/children who have experienced bereavement on one-to-one basis, either on telephone, face-to-face or zoom.
  • Comply with bereavement care's best practice.
  • Attend regular supervision meetings arranged by Group Leaders
  • Maintain confidentiality in all discussions with clients
  • Undertake risk assessment to ensure safe support.
  • Report any concerns to their Bereavement Group leader

What skills do I need?

  • Good listening and writing skills,
  • Empathy,
  • Non-judgemental,
  • Interpersonal skills,
  • Confidentiality.
  • We are especially interested to have volunteers who speak other languages than English.
  • A background in counselling or similar is useful but not essential.
