ParkBathe Mindful Walks - Walk Leader

ParkBathe Mindful Walks CIC

ParkBathe is a green health revolution that is soon to launch in Harrow ! ParkBathe provides free, peer-guided one-hour wellbeing walks inspired by forest bathing across 12 parks in South East London (120+ walks annually). Using simple sensory invitations and gentle nature connection, walks help people slow down, reduce stress and feel more grounded. Walks consist of small groups (x 10) and only cover a short distance. The sessions are slow and silent so are suitable for low mobility. Each walk uses the same format so you have the same experience in each park.

Sessions are accessible, low-pressure and suitable for people experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, low mood, social isolation, bereavement or everyday stress. No experience is required to attend and there is no pressure to talk or share.

We offer two volunteering pathways:

Ambassadors support walks by welcoming participants, helping with sign-in and assisting Walk Leaders during sessions (typically around one hour per month). Many Ambassadors enjoy helping as they enjoy seeing how much local people relax on these sessions and attending regularly also provides them with the cumulative health and wellbeing benefits too.

Walk Leaders receive comprehensive training to facilitate ParkBathe walks within their local community and help deliver free wellbeing sessions in local parks. Once trained up, they receive a set of instruction cards with a script to follow - so leading a walk is easy! Walk leaders do not need any prior experience to be trained up to lead free sessions, but we do ask they commit to leading sessions for a year (one a month) Most of our Walk Leaders have been leading sessions for over 2-3 years because they get so much out of the experience!

All ParkBathe Team members join a very friendly WhatsApp group and the organisation arranges events and get togethers for the team. We are actively recruiting in Harrow to launch ParkBathe Hubs in West Harrow Park and Kenton Recreation Ground so get in touch ! For volunteering enquiries contact: [email protected]
