Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) is seeking volunteers and their pets to support our Pets At Therapy Service across mental health and rehabilitation services in Harrow, Hillingdon, Chelsea & Westminster, and Park Royal (Acton). If you can commit to at least one hour per week, we'd love to hear from you. Your pet may already be registered with Pets As Therapy or a similar recognised organisation. Dog/Pet - A therapy dog needs a calm, friendly, and patient temperament with no signs of aggression. the pet needs to be fully vaccinated, and pass a formal temperament assessment.
Calm Composure: Stays relaxed and unbothered in loud, busy, or strange places like hospitals and schools.
Social and Friendly: Loves getting attention and meeting new people from all backgrounds without jumping up, pawing, or excessive barking.
Tolerant Handling: Enjoys being stroked and handled all over, even if someone touches them clumsily or pulls a tail.
Steady Nerves: Does not get startled by sudden movements, loud noises, or medical equipment like wheelchairs.
Human - Able to dedicate a minimum of 1 hour a week

Volunteers are asked to come at the same time every week for 1 hour only. The day and time can be discussed with the ward.
