Harrow Neighbourhood Watch CIC
Neighbourhood Watch is a national charity started in the 1980s and remains one of the largest in the UK. The London Borough of Harrow is developing the system for local residents and businesses which provides members with information about supporting their local neighbourhoods, advice about crime and local problems connected to the police and the council. The messaging system will provide opportunities to message members who are able to join local schemes, usually one street, estate or block of properties, but also businesses and organisations. Each scheme will have a coordinator to check and approve new members, keep the member list up to date and send messages. Coordinators will be required to keep in touch with local residents, promote membership but also liaise with the police and council. Time spent will depend on numbers of members, but generally a few hours a month as a minimum. Training will be provided.
