Help Us Build Our Supporter Network

Could you help us open a few doors?

Ignite Youth works with young people across Harrow, helping them overcome barriers, build confidence and create better opportunities for their future.

We’re looking for a friendly, well-connected local person who would enjoy helping us build relationships with people and organisations who might want to support our work.

Perhaps you’ve spent many years working in business, professional services or the local community and have built up a good network of contacts. Maybe you’re retired and looking for a meaningful way to use your experience and connections. Or perhaps you simply know Harrow well and enjoy bringing people together.

You don’t need to be a professional fundraiser. What matters most is that you believe in what we do, enjoy talking to people and are happy to make introductions where you think there could be a good fit.

What might you do?

There’s plenty of flexibility, but you could help us to:

• Introduce us to local businesses, individuals and groups who may be interested in supporting young people

• Help us develop a small network of people who want to stay connected with Ignite Youth and what we do

• Attend an occasional networking event or meeting with us

• Share your ideas about how we can build stronger relationships with local supporters

• Make introductions and help us tell our story to people who may not know about Ignite Youth

You won’t be expected to ask people for money or do fundraising on your own. We’ll provide the information and support you need.

What skills do I need?

This could be a great opportunity for someone who:

• Has good connections in Harrow or the surrounding area

• Enjoys meeting people and building relationships

• Has experience in business, professional services, community organisations, fundraising or leadership — although this isn't essential

• Is a good listener and communicator

• Cares about the future of young people in our community

About Ignite Youth

Ignite Youth, is a youth charity dedicated to working with children and young people, aged 11 to 25 in Harrow and surrounding boroughs, helping them re-engage with education, secure employment, and move away from anti-social behaviour, gang involvement and exploitative relationships. Our Vision A community where young people can turn adversity into advantage. We achieve this through: Engagement: Making meaningful contact with young people through activity and education-based programmes. Empowerment: Challenging values and behaviour, equipping young people with tools, resources, and opportunities to make positive choices. Transformation: Supporting young people to change the direction of their lives away from negative influences, raising aspirations, and setting goals for the future. Our work includes mentoring, sports and activity sessions, employment and education support and outreach work, all designed to build positive relationships and empower children and young people.

Details

This is a flexible volunteering role, with the time commitment agreed around your availability. It might involve an occasional meeting, making introductions, attending an event or simply having a conversation with us about who you think we should know.
