Are you interested in helping other people to enjoy cycling as much as you do?

Harrow Cycle Hub is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) founded in 2021, which aims to enable more people to cycle in Harrow. We want to do this by:

• Teaching people to ride and maintain a bicycle

• Enabling as many people as possible to cycle, including those needing adapted cycles

 • Supporting led rides and training people to lead them

• Providing information on obtaining, riding and maintaining cycles

• Advising local authorities and employers on ways to enable more people to cycle 

• Working in partnership with other organisations who share our aims

We are a multicultural organisation which welcomes all people irrespective of ethnicity, culture, religion, age, gender, disability or sexual orientation. We rely heavily on volunteers like you!

Role summary

• Undertake the relevant training required to undertake the role

• Act as a ride assistant, helping the ride leader

• Act as a ride leader designing routes, publishing rides and leading those rides

• Operate the Let's Ride system to publish and manage rides

• Help with projects, such as special events or activities (optional)

What skills do I need?

This is a voluntary role and is unpaid.

Essential Qualities of a Ride Leader

• A confident and proficient cyclist

• Competent use of IT skills

• Understanding of the need for confidentiality in handling rider's contact details 

• Excellent self-organisation

• Good communication skills

• Enthusiasm for cycling and the Hub’s aims

Harrow Cycle Hub is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) which aims to enable more people to cycle in Harrow. Wheels for All is the Hub's Inclusive Cycling programme to enable all abilities to cycle and give everyone access to cycling. Cycling is fun and Wheels for All enable people with mobility impairments and disabilities to experiencem them freedom and joy ofm cycling.

Time Commitment and Location • We are based in Harrow and most of our rides start and finish in Harrow • We run rides on any day of the week. The rides vary in duration and start time and you can set the date and time for rides you publish • You would be expected to volunteer for a minimum of twelve rides per year in either a leader or assistant role • Optional attendance at activities and events
