Social Media Volunteer

Ignite Youth

We are looking for a skilled and motivated volunteer to help us strengthen our social media presence and showcase the impact of our work with young people in Harrow. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their communications experience within a dynamic, community-focused charity.

Key responsibilities:

Develop and schedule engaging content for our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn).

Monitor engagement and suggest ways to grow our audience and reach.

Create simple graphics, photos, or short videos to increase visibility of our projects.

Support campaigns, events, and fundraising activity with targeted social media content.

Work with the team to shape a consistent tone of voice and visual style.


What skills do I need?

Skills and qualities we’re looking for:

Strong knowledge of social media platforms and trends.

Good writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences.

Confidence in using design tools such as Canva (or willingness to learn).

Organised and able to work independently.

Creativity and enthusiasm for sharing stories that inspire action.


About Ignite Youth

Ignite Youth, is a youth charity dedicated to working with children and young people, aged 11 to 25 in Harrow and surrounding boroughs, helping them re-engage with education, secure employment, and move away from anti-social behaviour, gang involvement and exploitative relationships. Our Vision A community where young people can turn adversity into advantage. We achieve this through: Engagement: Making meaningful contact with young people through activity and education-based programmes. Empowerment: Challenging values and behaviour, equipping young people with tools, resources, and opportunities to make positive choices. Transformation: Supporting young people to change the direction of their lives away from negative influences, raising aspirations, and setting goals for the future. Our work includes mentoring, sports and activity sessions, employment and education support and outreach work, all designed to build positive relationships and empower children and young people.
