Volunteer English teacher

We’re looking for a friendly volunteer who’d like to help adults feel more confident using English in everyday life. The sessions are relaxed conversation classes at our hub - no tests, no formal grammar lessons - just a welcoming space where people can practise speaking, ask questions, and learn the words and phrases that make day-to-day life easier. It’s about helping people chat to their GP, find their way around, or simply feel more comfortable striking up a conversation. If you enjoy meeting new people and would like to share your skills in a way that really makes a difference, we’d love you to join us.

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

* A friendly, approachable person who enjoys meeting new people

* A clear and patient communicator

* Good at listening and encouraging others to join in

* Reliable and able to commit to regular sessions

* Respectful of different cultures, backgrounds and experiences

* Comfortable explaining everyday English in simple, practical ways

No teaching qualifications are needed — just enthusiasm, empathy, and a willingness to create a welcoming space where women can feel more confident using English in everyday life.
