Blossom Education Ltd
About the role
Do you enjoy being creative online, making content, and connecting with people? We're looking for Volunteer Social Media Assistants and Content Creators to help us share our story and reach more families through our social channels.
You don't need to be an expert – just someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and keen to learn. This is a flexible role where even a few hours a week can make a real difference.
All volunteers complete the same core training as our Maternity Champions, giving you a strong foundation in supporting families and understanding our work. Following this training, you can choose to specialise in social media and content creation, using your creativity to help us raise awareness, engage our community, and amplify the voices of local families.
What you'll do
* Support the creation and scheduling of posts on Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms we use.
* Help write captions and share updates in a clear, friendly tone.
* Use simple tools such as Canva to create or edit graphics (we'll show you how if you're new to it).
* Help create content that showcases our activities, events, volunteers, and community impact.
* Keep an eye on comments and messages, letting the team know if something needs a reply.
* Share ideas for new ways we can connect with our audience.
What you'll gain
* The same core training provided to Blossom Maternity Champions.
* Experience managing social media for a community-focused organisation.
* New digital, marketing, and creative skills.
* Flexible volunteering at times that suit you.
* The opportunity to be part of a friendly and supportive team.
* Valuable experience that can support future employment, education, or volunteering opportunities.
* The satisfaction of knowing your creativity is helping make a real difference for local families.
No previous experience is required – just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
Skills & Qualities We’re Looking For
* Friendly and approachable style of communication.
* Creativity and enthusiasm for sharing stories online.
* Good attention to detail (spelling, formatting, tagging).
* Organised and reliable — able to commit a little time each week.
* Comfortable using social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or others).
* Eager to learn new skills and try out fresh ideas.
* Experience with Canva, Photoshop, or other design apps.
* Knowledge of social media scheduling tools.
* Interest in photography, video, or editing.
