Youth Work Support Volunteer

Ignite Youth

Are you passionate about helping young people reach their potential? Ignite Youth is looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to support our youth work team across a range of activities for young people aged 11-25.

As a Youth Work Support Volunteer, you'll help create a safe, welcoming environment where young people can build confidence, develop new skills and access positive opportunities. You don't need to be a qualified youth worker – we'll provide an induction, training and ongoing support.

What you'll do:

Support youth workers during group sessions and activities.

Build positive relationships with young people.

Help set up and pack away activities.

Encourage young people to participate and feel included.

Assist with trips, events and community activities where required.

We're looking for people who are:

Positive, approachable and good listeners.

Reliable and able to work as part of a team.

Passionate about making a difference to young people's lives.

Aged 18 or over.

What you'll gain:

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

What skills do I need?

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to build positive relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds.

Patient, approachable and empathetic.

Reliable, punctual and committed.

Able to work effectively as part of a team.

Willing to learn and follow safeguarding procedures.

Previous experience of working or volunteering with young people is welcome but not essential.

Ignite Youth, is a youth charity dedicated to working with children and young people, aged 11 to 25 in Harrow and surrounding boroughs, helping them re-engage with education, secure employment, and move away from anti-social behaviour, gang involvement and exploitative relationships.
